Climate Justice and Environmental Sustainability

May 5, 2023by adminwom

Climate justice and environmental sustainability are critical issues in our world today as the climate crisis continues to devastate the lives and livelihoods of millions of people. In particular, women and girls in Africa, with all their diversity, bear a disproportionate burden of discrimination stemming from the climate crisis. Unfortunately, their voices remain unheard, their realities overlooked, and their needs unmet. This is why CWIDI steps in to empower women and girls by providing them with knowledge and innovative solutions to protect the environment, combat climate change, and dismantle oppressive systems.

At CWIDI, we recognize the urgent need to support women and girls who are often left to navigate multiple crises on their own. Therefore, we actively work with women and girls, small-scale young women farmers, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to integrate climate-smart agricultural practices into their farming methods. By doing so, we aim to enhance their resilience and increase crop production on their farms.

By prioritizing climate justice and environmental sustainability, CWIDI strives to create a more equitable and sustainable future for all. We believe that by amplifying the voices of women and girlswomen and girls and empowering them with the tools to combat climate change, we can bring about positive change and build a more resilient society. Together, we can create a world where the impacts of the climate crisis are mitigated, and the rights and needs of all individuals, especially women and girls, are fully recognized and fulfilled.
