Learning to Set Boundaries and Stay Focused – Doose’s Journey
At just 14 years old, Doose from Ichwa IDP Camp learned one of life’s most valuable lessons — the importance of boundaries and self-respect. When she first joined CWIDI’s girls’ empowerment training, she didn’t see anything wrong with spending a lot of time with boys. But during sessions on body changes, self-worth, and confidence, her understanding began to shift.
“I’ve learned that I can still be friends with boys,” she said confidently, “but I need to set boundaries and know when to say no. I don’t have to be rude, but I can be firm and respectful about it.”
Now more self-aware and focused, Doose understands that premature relationships could distract her from her education and goals. Her story mirrors the first step many girls take through CWIDI’s work — recognizing their value, asserting control over their choices, and building the confidence to stay focused on their dreams.
